Harry Redknapp has spoken of his delight after Carlo Cudicini returned to action for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian keeper suffered pelvic and wrist injuries in a motorcycle accident in November and has battled back to save his career.

Cudicini played the first 45 minutes in Tottenham’s 4-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

“I’m so pleased he has recovered, absolutely delighted,” Redknapp told the club’s official website.

“It is great to have him back and available. He looked good and that’s great news for him and for us. He is ready to go.

“He is a great professional, a terrific goalkeeper and a top guy. He has done fantastic to recover after that horrific accident.

“He has just got on with it and worked his socks off to get fit again. We all knew he faced a struggle to get fit but he has worked hard with Tony Parks every day all through the summer and he feels good.”
