Redknapp delighted with Kaboul

Younes Kaboul has been praised by manager Harry Redknapp for his display against Stoke.

Kaboul came in for Wilson Palacios in midfield and put in an impressive shift alongside Luka Modric.

“I left Wilson Palacios out because he’s on nine bookings and took a gamble,” Redknapp told the official site. “I couldn’t risk Wilson. If he got booked again he would miss the FA Cup replay against Fulham and Younes is cup-tied on Wednesday.

“It meant I was one senior player short at Stoke with Wilson on the bench.

“I thought Younes did a terrific job for us in there especially for a lad who hasn’t played in midfield very often.

“I was really pleased with him. His heading was fantastic and he kept his passing simple. I was delighted with his performance.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. He was shocking in midfield against Everton. The lad is clearly a CB. Poor planning that he has to be used due to injuries/suspension.

  2. I wasn’t overly impressed with him against Stoke to be honest, he squandered too many opportunities in their half in my opinion.

  3. I thought he did well! He certainly has got his head down and working hard in training. Ok he wasted a few opportunities with wild shots on goal but if one flew into the top corner I feel peoples opinions would be different. I for one welcome him back to the Lane.

  4. Well done bristol yid … Finally someone who’s going to give kaboul a chance …. I think he a great signing and I think Saturday game shows it …. COYS
