Redknapp wants more flair players at Spurs

Rafael Van der Vaart - Tottenham news

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he would like to add some more flair to his team to accompany Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric.

Frankly, we’d prefer that Levy gets his chequebook out in January and signs a proven goalscorer.

Harry said in The Game: “I’d like to get another couple of flair players for the side to go with the likes of him (Van der Vaart) and Modric. You don’t give the ball away when you’ve got players like that.

“You look at Arsenal, they’re all popping the ball around to each other. If people want the ball, you’ve got a chance because they tend not to give the ball away.

“I’d much rather play that way, to be honest with you, than have people in there who are hammer-throwers, and keep passing the ball to the other team and then tackling people to get it back again. I’d rather go the other way.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Good ole Arry- VDV is another level- he keeps the ball and don't give poor passes to others. We have too many who are sloppy in passing: BAE, Corluka, Jenas, Palacios, Lennon, Pav, Keane,- this is too high for our team/squad. Arry needs to do more training & effect a system that makes use of players we got especially our striker pairings??

  2. Surely keeping the ball is just common sence and being able to pass it goes with out saying, keeping it simple ie the passing, would be a good starting point for harry. But you do need players that when they have a chance of scoring can put it away and with out defoe we look short in that department so just maybe harry should draft some of our younger players in now? and then go buy someone who will lead the line and score goals!!!(if need be)
