Redknapp frustrated by Bentley and Pav attitudes

Harry Redknapp has revealed that Roman Pavlyuchenko and David Bentley were omitted from the defeat to Wolves because of a lack of effort.

Pavlyuchenko has made his desire to leave Spurs very clear, whilst Bentley has also been frustrated by a lack of minutes this season.

Redknapp has claimed that whilst they could still remain part of his plans, they need to show a better attitude if they are going to make the squad.

“They’re fit. I left them off the bench. There was no incident, Bentley just played in a practice match and didn’t deserve to be on the bench. Nor did Pavlyuchenko.

“Other players have worked hard all week to get in the team, put in 100 per cent. I have to send a message out to them as well sometimes.”

However, Redknapp has insisted the pair will remain in his thoughts and that he has received no offers for either player.

“No-one’s looking to buy them, they’re here and they’re part of the squad, part of the team. But I just decided this week they didn’t work hard enough in training, so I didn’t put them on the bench.

“There’s no grudges. We will see how we go for Wednesday against Manchester City.”
