Redknapp full of praise for ‘amazing’ Bale

Gareth Bale has once again come in for praise from Harry Redknapp.

The Welsh full-back was in superb form in Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Portsmouth on Saturday and provided a superb cross for Peter Crouch to open the scoring.

“Gareth is amazing,” Redknapp told the club’s site. “He’s such an athlete as well, terrific ability, great skill, he can do everything.

“He’s six foot one, has a great left foot, he can run all day, head it, pass it, cross, dribble.

“He makes a run and then gets back and runs again. He’s got the capacity to keep making 60-yard runs and then make another, then another.

“He’s only a boy still as well really, that’s the key. Cliff Jones, one of the great players of the double team, who played for Wales many, many times, told me that he thinks Gareth will be the first Welsh player to get 100 caps.

“If he stays clear of injury he can only keep getting better.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. He's a a fantastic player and will only get better, but, i wonder how significant it is that Ryan Giggs has offered to come out of international retirement to tap up Bale for Fergie. I mean Giggs wasn't exactly desperate to play for Wales when he was at the top of his game and i bet Bale grew up admiring Giggs. Paranoia is the height of awareness.

  2. Absolutely agree with you does seem bit strange but no matter haven’t we tied him into a long contract? So when ol red nose does come sniffing just tell him yes for twice what you paid for Berbatov end of chat. Bale is in terrific form not complaining but what was the problem before? I so wish Bale was English.

  3. Bale is a highly talented young player going from strength to strength and contributing to many goals for SPURS through his fine crosses. He is certainly a ‘Giggs’ in the making. I have only one little suggestion to make about Bale and I suppose he will do it as he acquires more experience. It is to think of CUTTING THE BALL BACK at times instead of the normal cross, particularly when he has a team mate completely unmarked just outside the goalmouth. If he does this, still more goals will be scored.
