Redknapp hints at no Spurs spending in January

Harry Redknapp - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp insists he is not looking to bring any new players to White Hart Lane when the transfer window opens in January.

Harry normally comes out and says these things in a build-up to a transfer window, but if he’s serious then it’s a bit worrying. It looks as if Roman Pavlyuchenko will leave the club in January and we really need another target man, if Adebayor was to get injured then I wouldn’t have the same confidence in our attack.

“I’m hoping that Michael Dawson comes back,” Redknapp said, speaking to the Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.

“He’s got this Achilles injury. Hopefully we will get a decision on him this week. He’s going for another scan on that.

“William Gallas is coming back now as well. He did a fantastic job for us last season and, if I get them lads fit, we are OK, it’s not a problem. Other than that I wouldn’t know where to bring anyone else in. We are pretty strong all over the pitch.”

  1. Classic buyer's ploy…like the media saying there will be less money available this Xmas & the shops drop prices early.

I love it when the media quote Harry as if he were Moses while they ignore the other 90% of what he said, often even in the same sentence

  2. I agree with Harry very strong sqaud with oppurtunities for youngsters to develop all over the place. The obvious 3 to replace is Pav ,Bassong& Gomes. In all honesty I’d take Damaio and be thrilled

  3. Here we go again!!!! Redknapp talking shit yet again. We need to buy a striker and a centreback at least espcially if pav and bassong leave. Hasnt redknapp learn anything about not buying when we need them big time?

  4. Not sure if we can let Pav go and not replace him. Very big risk that’s not worth taking. We need another defender and a striker if Pav goes simple as.

  5. I dont want Pav to leave beacuse he is a great player but if he would leave it would be good to maybe buy Assamhoa Gyan or Nilmar if that is possible…
