Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would have signed Sol Campbell, if he wasn’t in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.
The central defender joined League Two outfit Notts County earlier today, after leaving Portsmouth at the end of last season.
Redknapp said: “I’ll be honest with you. If I wasn’t at Tottenham and was at any other Premier League club, I’d have taken Sol Campbell.
“I think he’s still a fantastic player. Anybody looking for a centre-half, I’d have taken him with no problem at all, because he’s still that good. In my opinon he’s still a top six central defender in the Premier League, for Notts County to get him in that league is incredible.
“No, I couldn’t bring him to Tottenham. That would have been impossible. If I’d been anywhere else apart from Tottenham, I’d have taken him.
Have something to tell us about this article?
thats right, dont buy back that traitor!
NO he is CRAP NOW
Sol wouldn’t been in the spotlight have Mabbutt not reached
his peak of his career, so when one retires there will always
be a new one we all have to look up to. Sol was then one of
the best considered in England in the late 90’s and tarnished
that image by walking out of WHL towards Highbury.
Because of money, he lost all the respect.
We are always lucky, LEDLEY KING sat right on the throne he
left, and tell us all what ‘LOYALTY’ really means. Besides
that, Ledley proves everything that Sol’s not. Even Thierry
Henry admitted that Ledley is the fairest tackler in England
during his time with Arsenal. Too bad because he’s too nice
in the field that every dirty player wanted to rip his knee
off. Now we have Bassong and hopefully Wilson’s mate Chavez.
LEDLEY, thanks for being with us through the waves & storms.
With three wins for a start, we can start seeing the sunlight.
