Redknapp: It’ll be a funny day, a strange day

Harry Redknapp has reflected on the fact that Tottenham Hotspur will now face Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi final.

Tottenham’s 3-1 win against Fulham booked Redknapp the tie against his former side, who he helped to lift the trophy two years ago.

“Avram Grant texted me and said he hopes we win every game except the semi-final,” Redknapp said.

“I know some of the boys there like Hermann Hreidarsson, King Kanu, Richard Hughes and David James. It’ll be good to see them.

“It’ll be a funny day, a strange day. They have great support and it’ll be a great atmosphere. It will be great for them. They need something to lift their season.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Surely Pompey's best bet would be to place an enormous bet on Spurs to win the semi-final. If they borrow 2-3 hundred million off Hick's and Gillett they could win enough to pay off their own debts and fund a replacement for Torres in return!

  2. I like the way he said '' I know some of the boys ''. Of course, only a small few of the boys, mainly because Tottenham have bought all their good players already! It'll be a great day at Wembley, hopefully we're gonna make it to the final. (I feel sorry for Jamie O'Hara, but you make your bed…) COYS!!
