Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is looking for Tottenham to peak in time for the Premier League campaign.

Spurs were held to a 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday and face two other matches in the USA against New York Red Bulls on Thursday and Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.

“This is the start of a new season for us,” Redknapp told the club’s official site. “We have two games to come in New York now and then we go back home and play Villarreal, Benfica and then Fiorentina, so we have five games before the season starts.

“It is all about peaking for the start of the season, that is what we are aiming to do, that is what it is about.

“It is not about winning pre-season games and losing in the regular season during league games.”

  1. Harry is right about peaking but when you don't win it feels rubbish to put it mildly and when we drew against The Quakers it spoiled my night but seeing Bale carry on playing made up for my disappointment . He still has some weakness in that Ankle when its put under extreme pressure and with ankles and knees this can be like that for years and in some cases for the rest of there career. This will be the case with Lennon and if he doesn't need an operation next season i will be surprised because in the brief World Cup appearances he looked frightened to get involved in contact and crossed before he should have lets hope i am wrong . The worrying thing is injury's and David Bentley is prove that these competitive games are the real thing and no longer friendly s . On the positive side our Youngsters are looking good and Townsend is looking a good but younger and faster replacement for Bentley our very own BT breathtaking SPEEDSTERS . Hudds has the Americans have dubbed hi a quartet back spraying is passes that England sorely missed.
