Redknapp would love Kranjcar to stay

Niko Kranjcar

Harry Redknapp wants Niko Kranjcar to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Croatian midfielder has hardly featured this season due to the amount of competition for midfield places, but Redknapp is still a massive fan of the former Pompey player.

“I wouldn’t want Niko to go. He’s been so unlucky,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News. “Niko came in last year and he was one of the signings of the season.

“Gareth (Bale) was playing left-back at the time. Gareth is playing forward now more and Niko’s just not been able to get in the team. He’s a top player and a top boy as well.

“He’s not the type you’d want to lose because you couldn’t replace people like that easily. He’s a class act. He will get back in, he will get his chances to play.

“We’ve got a tough second half of the season so we’re going to need our best players and he’s one of those. I would love to keep him here.”

  1. I would also love Niko to stay as we are going to need him. Our players will be tired, injuries will happen so he will get his chance.

This would be a terrible mistake to sell an exceptional player.

For years Spurs fans cried out for a left winger – whilst Bale is the solution – Kranjcar is a cracking understudy.

It would be a great loss to lose a player of proven quality. And for what? So we can invest in a younger player, who may or may not develop into a player of Kranjcar’s quality?!?! We all know Spurs’ record with signing hit or miss younger players. Keep the quality.
