Redknapp: Man City are still favourites for fourth

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes that Manchester City are still favourites to clinch the final Champions League place.

Yesterday, City defender Micah Ricahrds insisted that Spurs were favourites after Mancini’s side lost 2-0 to Everton, but Redknapp also feels that Liverpool aren’t out of the race just yet.

“Spurs are one of a few if not the only team who play 4-4-2 these days. Everyone including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool all play with one up front.

“Man City, Aston Villa, they’re the same, it goes right the way through the division but I like to be a bit more adventurous and will always try to use two strikers.

“It’s not only being daring that will get you fourth place this season, you need a bit of luck to steer clear of injuries along the way.

“I’ve said all Man City are the favourites to finish fourth even though they dropped points against Everton but you shouldn’t write off Liverpool.

“Of the teams hoping to get into the Champions League, they have the most kind fixtures for the remaining eight games.

“Arguably Tottenham have the most difficult with Arsenal, Chelsea at White Hart Lane and Manchester United away, all played one after the other.

“Of course it’s a big opportunity for us to have a big say in where the title will end up – I know where I want to end up – fourth, I’ll just have to put up with the stress.”
