Harry Redknapp has distanced Tottenham with a move for Ashley Young.
The England winger’s future at Aston Villa has been the subject of a lot of speculation and although Redknapp admits that Young is a player of interest, he cannot see Villa letting him go.
Figures of around £20million have been quoted if Spurs were to land the player, which is probably more than the club are willing to spend this summer.
“We got linked with Ashley Young last week, but there’s no truth in that,” Redknapp said. “He’s a good player, and if he’s available then we’d be interested. But at the moment he’s not on the market and Aston Villa want to keep him.”
