Harry Redknapp is not overly concerned with Tottenham’s poor penalty taking record this season and is not contemplating the possibility of a penalty shoot-out being required when Spurs meet Bolton on Wednesday.
Spurs drew 1-1 at the Reebok Stadium earlier this month, with Tom Huddlestone the latest to miss from the spot, which could have sealed the tie for Spurs.
Redknapp said, “We have been taking a few penalties in some practice sessions and they are all hitting the back of the net on a regular basis – but when you get a penalty in a big game, it is a different pressure.
“You can take as many penalties as you like in training, but ou can never replicate that – when you have to score a penalty to win a match and the crowd are there, it is a different pressure.
“I am not one for thinking too negative and I am sure there are enough lads who can score penalties if it comes to that – but let’s hope we can finish the job off before we get there.”
