Redknapp plays down Bentley arguement

Harry Redknapp has played down rumours that David Bentley has no future at the club.

The Daily express reported a big falling out between the pair, after Bentley produced a poor performance against Grays Atheltic in a friendly.

Redknapp did however admit he was disappointed with the attitude shown by Bentley in the behind-closed-doors match.

“It wasn’t a real bust-up, nothing that would compare with what we are talking about at the other clubs this week.

“I wasn’t happy with his performance in the first half of the game and that was it.

“There was no blazing row. I just felt he could have done better than he was doing. It was very mild.

“I was supposed to have said I will sell him in January. That’s absolutely rubbish.”

One positive from that match was the return to action of Luka Modric and Redknapp is glad that progress is finally being made on his injury.

“Luka came through a friendly game and was fine. It’s a bit early to start him but he’ll be involved.”
