Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is still keen on signing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Despite adding Peter Crouch to his striking ranks earlier this week, Redknapp is still targeting the Real Madrid forward, providing that Darren Bent leaves the club.

The news that Redknapp is still interested in Huntelaar will delight the Spurs fans.

“It is definitely not a no go,” he said. “It is still a possibility. If you look at his goalscoring record, it is incredible.

“If he is available then again he is a player that interests me. I think if any top-class player becomes available then you have to be interested and if Darren Bent does go then maybe we will be interested.

“You cannot have too many good players. Competition for places is what it is all about. Look at Manchester United, you could pick two teams from their squad last year.”

  1. oh come on haary, leave him be. we got good enough fire power up front. give gio a chance to prove his worth in the prem. beef up the defence.

  2. I sure Huntelaar will not be bought unless Bent and one other are sold i.e. Pav or maybe Robbie.
But not much grounds for the blind optimism seen else where on the forum unless we purchase centre half.
