Redknapp speaks on Suarez to Spurs rumours

Harry Redknapp admits that he is a fan of AJax striker Luis Suarez, but doubts a move could materialise.

The 23-year-old has scored 110 goals in 154 appearances in Dutch football and was famed for his handball for Uruguay in the World Cup.

“He’s a good player but we haven’t made any offer for him,” said Redknapp.

“I would doubt very much that anything will happen there. I’ve watched him loads of times; he’s not an out-and-out striker but he could play anywhere.”

    • So?????…Cockhead!….Everyone knows that VDV was a bargain basement last min deal.

Why even post such a stupid fu**ing point!

  1. Oh Harry just buy him and stop poncing about wasting your time with the Beckham distraction. And why ffs did you let Walker go to Villa on loan. Sometimes you make me think that you are only half as good as everyone thinks you are!

    • Sending Walker to Villa is a touch of genius Ivan. He’s obviously been turning heads at QPR and is worth a shout in the Premier League but why take the risk in the Spurs defence? Let Villa take the risk for now (great goal today btw!) and recall him when he’s got the hang of it. Genius Harry!

  2. Jesus Ivan. The man works minor miracles at Spurs, transforming us into serious European contenders, making us a team that the football world is actually taking seriously for the first time in decades and you say he’s an idiot because you disagree with him loaning out a fringe squad player. Have a word with yourself.

As for Suarez, Harry is obviously interested in him but its fast too long in the tooth to go saying he wants him ( thus encouraging other teams to try and get in quick

As for Suarez, Harry is obviously interested in him but is far too long in the tooth to go saying he wants him, thus perhaps driving the price up, just to satisfy a bunch of over critical Spurs fans. He may hate the nickname, but he doesn’t get called a wheeler dealer because he isn’t any good in the transfer market. I wouldn’t want to play poker with him, put it that way.

  4. he wants 100k a week if he moves, he has stated on 2 occassions to ajax fans of he wont go! rules us out so stop wasting time with this story!

  5. I think a striker like him would be someone we would have to look at seriously. Our stature is on the up and at the moment we have the big european teams taking note of our achievements and style of play. Why not go for a couple of big players to replace the out bound players?

  6. As a Liverpool fan I have to say that there are very few strikers that can lay claim to being a "poor man's Dirk Kuyt" and Suarez definitely isn't one of them!! I've long hoped that Liverpool would get in for the guy while his reputation has taken a bit of a hit, but Redknapp does tend to be far better at picking out bargain buys and is much more likely to get him in for you guys :-(

Hopefully he does mess up this time and chooses Wolfeswinkle over Suarez though – that would be great news!
