“I don’t know whether Redknapp is telling the truth”

Roman Pavlyuchenko - Tottenham Hotspur News

Roman Pavlyuchenko wants to leave Tottenham due to a lack of first-team action.

Pav is wary of missing out on Russia’s Euro 2012 squad and wants regular football to ensure he books his place in the squad.

“I don’t believe I can fight my way into the Tottenham starting line-up. Players can feel what the manager thinks about them, and I know that the manager doesn’t count on me these days.

“I don’t know whether Redknapp is telling the truth when he says he doesn’t want to lose me. I guess he is not telling the truth.

“Something must change. I must play in order not to miss Euro 2012,” added Pavlyuchenko, who has made just two substitute appearances this season.

“I don’t know whether the club will execute that option [to sell me], but a good offer would definitely be considered.”

  1. Pav. Please STFU. You do this every season. spout crap about not getting enough game time. yet when the window opens and no decent offers come in, you remember that actually, you haven't got it that bad at Spurs and declare you want to stay. Just keep schdum, work your balls off when you get on the pitch and make it impossible for the manager to drop you. This means…
    – Dropping back and actually helping midfield when under pressure. even Defoe does this more than you!
    – Not looking for the shot every single time if there's someone better placed to score (You do this even when the angle or obstacles are insurmountable and you end up losing us possession)
    – Get tough with defenders
    – work on your first touch and ball control. (You lose us possession a lot, especially against better sides)
