Portsmouth have confirmed that Harry Redknapp will be provided with minders for his return to Fratton Park on Saturday.
Redknapp has become an unpopular figure amongst the Pompey fans since leaving the South Coast strugglers for Tottenham last October.
Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar have also made the trip to White Hart Lane since then, so tensions are expected to be running high.
Rumours had suggested SAS troops would be part of the security, which has since been denied, but Portsmouth have confirmed that Tottenham will be bringing their own security with them.
Director of Communications at Portsmouth, Gary Double, said, “There have been discussions between the two clubs already and there will be more in the next few days, but we understand Tottenham are making their own arrangements.
“It is common practice now for clubs to travel with their own stewards, more often in respect of monitoring away fans than the team and manager, and this will be no different.
“Although one or two feelings may run high, our supporters have an excellent record of behaviour at home games and we do not expect them to cross any boundaries on Saturday.”
