Redknapp unsure of when Modric will return

Harry Redknapp has refused to speculate on when Luka Modric could return to action for Tottenham.

The Croatian broke a fibula in the match against Birmingham City on August 28th and it had been originally thought that he could be fit in time to face Portsmouth last weekend.

“He is still quite a way away,” said Redknapp. “The leg is very tender, and he is very hesitant on his leg still.

“So he still a long way away really. I was hopeful he’d be close after the international break but he hasn’t recovered really. He’s not happy with it at the moment.

“I wouldn’t like to put a time on it. We started him trying to jog last Friday but he’s very tender with it.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I’m sure Gio could do a good job in Moders stead, but is he fit? Also we certainly don’t want him (Gio) going to Portsmouth who are about to come calling.

  2. We’re doing OK at the moment so lets not rush him, getting him back for the congested christmas period would be a great boost.
More concerned about J.D’s foolish stamp at the weekend, which means he now misses the Scum
