Harry Redknapp has admited that he will make changes to his Tottenham side for the visit to Preston North End on Wednesday night.

Spurs travel to Deepdale to take on the Championship side in the Carling Cup and is expected to give the likes of Giovani dos Santos and David Bentley starting berths.

“It will be a difficult test,” Redknapp told the official Spurs site. “I remember going there a couple of years ago with Portsmouth and getting absolutely battered. David James saved a penalty and somehow we sneaked a goal in the last minute of the game for an undeserved win so we know it will be a tough, tough game at Preston.

“Alan has done a fantastic job there and they are a very good team. It is a difficult place to go.

“They are doing well in the league this year and Preston is a great club with great tradition. It is always a pleasure to go back there and see Tom Finney because he is a real legend.”

“I have got a big squad and they all need games, so I will mix it up again like I did at Doncaster.

“That is not being disrespectful to to the opposition, it’s just I have got people here that need to play. But whoever plays they will have to play really well to get the win because Preston are a good side.”
