Redknapp: We must believe we can break into top four

Harry Redknapp has again stated that he is targeting a top four finish for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Redknapp saw his side continue their impressive start to the new campaign with a 2-1 win at Portsmouth yesterday to keep themselves third in the Premier League.

He said: “We have to believe and we’ve got to have a go.

“That is the aim and I can’t keep saying we can’t. This is the year the top teams are getting beaten.

“Other years it’s been different but Chelsea and Liverpool have been beaten this weekend. Liverpool only lost twice last year in the league.

“There are teams now who, on their better days, can knock the top sides over, so I think the league is getting closer.

“Aston Villa got a great result (against Chelsea) and are going to be there, Manchester City can achieve anything with that squad. We can look to push and be around that top group all season.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Its still early in the season to draw conclusions but our Harry is right if we can keep grinding out the results the rewards are there we have to be disciplined though petulance like what JD showed could make all the difference in the final scheme of things. We got the gooners end of the month no need to gee anyone up for that but no JD

  2. Harry, i could accept what your saying if we werent so comprehensively outplayed by ManU and Chelsea, and then the atrocious defending at Bolton so we scraped a draw in the end.
In fact, I think our defending will be what undoes us. looks like 6 or 7th place to me.
