Redknapp: Woody has had a nightmare

Harry Redknapp has revealed that Jonathan Woodgate is still feeling low due to his injury problems.

The Tottenham defender is currently in Australia as he battles to save his career after his baffling groin problem continues.  An operation in the United States has failed to solve the problem.

“He texts me all the time – he has been very low, obviously,” Redknapp said.

“He is at a very low point in his life. He is stuck in a little flat somewhere and he goes to the gym all day doing his work trying to recover.

“Can you imagine what his life has been like? He has treatment all day and he is doing recovery work.

“They have kept him out there so we will have to wait and see.”

“He is a great lad, a top bloke, but his problem is that nobody can get to the bottom of his injury,” added Redknapp.

“You are better off with a broken leg. Aaron Lennon had the same thing – they said he would be out for two weeks and then suddenly it is five months. It takes time and even now he has not played 90 minutes. Woody has had a nightmare.”
