Harry Redknapp - Tottenham Hotspur News

Harry Redknapp has admitted that he was disappointed as Spurs could only draw 2-2 at Newcastle.

“When you’re 2-1 up in the 80-whatever minute you’re looking for the three points, that’s for sure,” he said.

“This is always a tough place to come and they’re unbeaten this year so they’re a tough side, but we were in a position to finish them off and at 2-1 I felt very comfortable.

“We were looking to get forward more and I thought we could go on and nick another goal.

“We got in some great positions on the break, but didn’t pick the right ball or whatever.”

  1. Didn't the Arsenal match show Spurs need someone who can play out wide. VDV and Modric cannot play on the right. All 2 goals from Newcastle were from the right. Gio or Townsend should of started.

  2. Less greed from both defoe and ade would have sealed it for us today. They both tried to shoot when each other were free, unmarked and in better positions. Both need to be reminded to ‘look up’ a bit more.

  3. Everyone's so wise after the event… If Defoe had a poor 1st half it would have been 'Rafa should have started',
i thought we started with as strong a lineup as we could with the players available.

Jay it's a shame Defoe was so selfish to choose to shoot to put us 1-2 up as well i suppose?

  4. well said Jay….competition for places is good but egos coming before 3 points being secured is not…Defoe should have squared to either of 2 players at the death.. Stamp it out H.
