The deadlock is yet to be broken at the half-time interval in Tottenham’s game against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino decided to make four changes to the side that started in the 2-1 defeat to Burnley.
Davinson Sanchez, Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela came in for Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier as the Argentine decided to start with a back four.
Maurizio Sarri meanwhile decided to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga after the Spaniard controversially declined to come off the pitch in the Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final game against Man City on Sunday.
On the whole, the first half was a pretty cagey affair with neither team creating many clear cut chances. However, Spurs began imposing themselves on the game as the half went on, and finished the stronger of the two teams.
Harry Winks even struck the woodwork with a fantastic effort from range just before the interval. Referee Andre Marriner refused to call fouls on several occasions when players went down, with Son Heung-Min, in particular, feeling hard done by on a couple of occasions.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the first half at Stamford Bridge:
This ref is giving us absolutely nothing.

Expert analysis: Harry Winks should shoot more.

Would’ve absolutely lost it if Winks’ strike dipped half an inch lower & crept in underneath the bar. Came so close at the end of that half.

Circles have more dangerous corners than us ffs

#Tottenham have looked slightly more threatening for me but both sides doing well to limit the other’s clear-cut chances. Lamela frustrating to watch, often losing possession when Spurs need to counter – a key reason he is on the field. #cfc 0-0 #thfc
