Referee and VAR official confirmed for Man City vs Tottenham this weekend

The Premier League have confirmed that Michael Oliver will take charge of the clash between Manchester City and Tottenham on Saturday.

Heading into the match at the Etihad, Spurs and City are the only two teams who are still unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season. Both teams have won four and drawn two of their first six games and the clash promises to be a cracker.

Tottenham defeated City both home and away last season, with the Lilywhites being particularly impressive in their 3-2 win at the Etihad back in February.

Antonio Conte will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday but the Premier League champions are now a different proposition upfront after their acquisition of Erling Haaland.

The Premier League have now confirmed that Oliver will be in charge of the game at the Etihad while Stuart Burt and Simon Bennett will be his assistants.

Darren England will be the fourth official for the game while Paul Tierney will be on VAR duty, assisted by Marc Perry.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure that Spurs will be able to contain City all that easily by defending deep now that they have the threat of Haaland in the box. We cannot allow them to be playing in as many crosses as they did in the fixture in February and we have to brave on the ball to have a shot at getting a result.
