Reguilon provides injury update after going off early against Aston Villa

In a boost to Tottenham Hotspur, Sergio Reguilon has taken to social media to reveal that the knock he picked up against Aston Villa is not serious.

The left-back put in a typically industrious display yesterday as he did his defensive duties competently while also proving a constant threat going forward down the left flank with his pace.

However, the Spaniard had to come off just before the hour mark as he sustained a knock on his foot while going in for a challenge.

Although the 24-year-old tried to run it off, it soon became clear that he could not continue. He was replaced by Ben Davies and the Welshman put in a solid display to help Spurs see out a comfortable 2-0 win.

Some Spurs fans may have been concerned to see Reguilon hobbling off since the left-back had only returned to action from a muscle injury a month ago.

However, the former Real Madrid man was quick to allay people’s concerns as he took to Instagram to reveal that everything was fine.

Thankfully for Spurs, Reguilon has not been called up for Spain’s World Cup Qualifiers. That should give the full-back plenty of time to rest and recover fully in time for our clash against Newcastle on April 4.
