“Remember those who called Kane selfish” – Some Spurs fans accuse Liverpool fans of double standards after penalty incident

Liverpool overcame Cardiff City 2-0 in Wales on Sunday thanks to second-half goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner.

The second goal came from the penalty spot after Mohamed Salah went down under a challenge from a Cardiff defender late in the game.

The Egyptian international was insistent that he wanted to take the spot-kick, thus forcing James Milner, Liverpool’s penalty taker, to physically grab the ball off Salah.

Some Spurs fans on social media noticed the fact that Liverpool fans were completely quiet about the incident, after repeatedly accusing Tottenham striker Harry Kane of being “selfish” for claiming a goal last season.

The England Captain rightly claimed that he got a touch on Eriksen’s freekick against Stoke City last season before the ball sailed into the back of the net. However, the incident certainly didn’t sit well with Liverpool fans, many of whom suggested that what Kane had done was embarrassing.

So Spurs fans didn’t miss the opportunity to give it back to Liverpool fans after the incident on Sunday. Here’s how some fans reacted to the incident:
