Report: Tottenham considering bid for highly-rated teenager

Rumors are circulating in the British press that Tottenham are interested in bringing Norwich’s 18-year-old right-back Max Aarons to North London this January.

Aarons only made his debut for the Championship club this August but his performances for the Canaries since then have caught the eye of several clubs.

The Sun reports that several clubs including RB Leipzig and Spurs have been watching the teenager closely this season with the North London club now poised to make an offer of £15 million for him.

However, Norwich will certainly want to hold on to Aarons at least until the end of the season as they push for promotion back into the Premier League. It is also unclear what price the Canaries would demand for the teenager given how he has shot to fame recently with his marauding runs from right back.

Furthermore, Tottenham seem to be well stocked in the right-back position with Tripper and Aurier both getting a fair amount of game time this season and 21-year-old Walker-Peters putting in a few assured displays when given opportunities.

While it doesn’t make sense for Tottenham to be going for a right-back at the moment unless they sell at least one of the three, Spurs might be looking at Max Aarons as a prospect for the future.
