Report: £10m Spurs signing expected to depart today

According to a report by Football Insider, QPR have won the race to sign Jack Clarke on loan for the remainder of the season.

The report claims that the Championship club have come to a full agreement with Spurs and the paperwork on the deal will soon be completed. It is suggested that the official announcement could come as soon as today.

It is claimed that Clarke’s registration will be completed in time for him to take the field for QPR in their clash against his former club Leeds United at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Clarke hardly saw any game time at Leeds in the first half of the campaign which is why he was called back by the Lilywhites (The Athletic). He will be hoping he features much more regularly for Mark Warburton’s side.

The report suggests that Rangers have beaten the likes of Derby County, Millwall, Middlesbrough, Fulham, Swansea City, Nottingham Forest, and Celtic to land Clarke.

Clarke became Tottenham’s first signing in 517 days since the arrival of Lucas Moura when Mauricio Pochettino brought him to North London in July (Sky Sports) for a fee of £10million (Standard).

The way Clarke’s loan spell at Leeds turned out was extremely disappointing to see but it is a promising sign that so many clubs were interested in taking the youngster. Hopefully, he can get some games under his belt for QPR in the second half of the campaign and show the kind of form that tempted Spurs to sign him last summer.
