Report: 12 players from team Spurs play in November test positive for COVID-19

Bulgarian journalist, Metodi Shumanov has revealed that there has been a major COVID-19 outbreak within the Ludogorets camp, just days after they hosted Tottenham in a Europa League group stage clash.

The news has also been confirmed by local publication Sportal (as translated by One Football), who reveal that as many as 12 players from the Bulgarian champions have tested positive for coronavirus.

Tottenham travelled to Razgrad to take on the Bulgarian side last Thursday and made easy work of Stanislav Genchev’s men as they emerged 3-1 victors.

Spurs travelled with almost their entire first team for the game and Jose Mourinho fielded a strong team for the clash following their 1-0 defeat against Royal Antwerp the previous week, with the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Gareth Bale all getting minutes.

For those worrying, the Premier League has stringent testing protocols when it comes to COVID-19, with all players and staff being tested twice every week.

There has not been any announcement from Tottenham about new cases, which suggests that the North Londoners have come out of the clash unscathed.

The Lilywhites are due to play Ludogorets again on November 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
