Report: £17m update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani

Bild have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are still some way off from meeting Eintracht Frankfurt’s valuation of Randal Kolo Muani.

RMC Sport claimed last week that Spurs are ready to launch a move for Kolo Muani if Harry Kane departs the club this summer.

However, the publication added that the Lilywhites are expected to face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea for the France international.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri also reported on Tottenham’s interest in Kolo Muani, stating on Monday that the North London club are willing to offer €80m (£68.6m) for the striker.

The journalist asserted that the 24-year-old is keen on making a switch to the Premier League side if they can agree a deal with Frankfurt.

Frankfurt want a higher fee than Spurs are offering

Bild have now also backed up Tavolieri’s claim by also stating that Tottenham are willing to pay €80m (£68.6m) for Kolo Muani.

However, the outlet adds that the figure is €20m (£17.1m) short of Frankfurt’s valuation, with the Bundesliga side said to be demanding €100m (£85.8m) for the centre-forward.

The report adds that the German club have not received any official bids for the player as things stand but would be happy to sell him late in the window as long as the aforementioned valuation is met.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see any club being willing to pay £85m for Kolo Muani, given that he has only had one outstanding season at the highest level.

£65m plus add-ons will likely be enough to tempt Frankfurt into selling the Frenchman. However, I suspect PSG will prioritise a move for the 24-year-old if Bayern get Kane.
