Report: Dusan Vlahovic keen to play for Conte but wants Champions League football

Dusan Vlahovic’s representatives travelled to England in November to meet with clubs interested in landing the Fiorentina striker, according to 90min.

The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur were among the clubs who sat down with the striker’s entourage and were told that the 21-year-old would love to work under Antonio Conte.

Playing in the Champions League next season is considered to be more important to the Serb, who has scored 18 goals in all competitions this term, is expected to end up at a club who are in the competition, despite the fact he could be persuaded to feature in the Europa League.

North London rivals Arsenal are also keen to land the prolific forward and were desperate to get a deal secured this month, however, the player has been left unconvinced that a switch to the Emirates would be best for him, partly due to the lack of consistent qualification for the Champions League.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are among the other English clubs who have been asked to be kept updated of any developments, while there is also interest on the continent from Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus.

Fiorentina would prefer to see Vlahovic move abroad, rather than join fellow Serie A side Juventus.

Securing Vlahovic’s signature will not be an easy task for Tottenham given the fact that we’re not guaranteed to secure Champions League football and cannot match the wages of some other interested parties.

There’s no doubt that Spurs need another forward to help relieve the goalscoring burden from Harry Kane, and also as a contingency should it be decided to part company with the England skipper.
