The Sun have claimed that Manchester United have been forced to turn their attention to other options after learning that Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy wants to join Tottenham in January.
Guirassy has been one of the most in-form strikers across Europe so far this season, with the centre-forward having scored a whopping 19 goals already this season in just 16 matches (Transfermarkt).
Several outlets have reported over the last month that Tottenham are battling the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham for the 27-year-old, who has a release clause of €17.5m (£15m) on his contract (TEAMtalk).
The Guardian’s Ed Aarons revealed last week that Manchester United had also entered the race for the Guinea international in January as Erik Ten Hag wants to add another number nine to his squad.
Guirassy prefers Spurs move over Man United
The Sun have now handed Spurs a boost by revealing that despite Man Utd’s interest, Guirassy would prefer to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in next month’s transfer window.
The publication adds that having heard of his development, the Red Devils have now turned their attention to Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri instead.

While Postecoglou might ideally prefer to sign a wide-forward rather than a centre-forward in Janaury, the North London club might view the opportunity to sign a goal scorer of Guirassy’s quality for just £15m as too good to pass up.
