Report: 19-year-old spotted training with Alfie Devine and Spurs first team this week

Tottenham academy starlet Romaine Mundle was spotted training with the first team ahead of the clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Mundle, who went full-time as a scholar with Spurs in 2019, first caught people’s eye after impressing for the Club’s Under-18s in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns, and he went on the break into the development squad towards the end of the latter.

The teenager featured 18 games in the Premier League 2 over the course of last season and has made 15 appearances in the competition so far this season (Transfermarkt).

He was named in the senior squad for the first time in the first leg of our UEFA Europa Conference League play-off tie with Pacos de Ferreira last season, a game where he remained an unused substitute.

The winger, who can play on either flank, was named on the bench for the second time in Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round tie against Portsmouth last month.

It now looks like Mundle might have an outside chance of making a Premier League matchday squad for the first time this weekend, having been pictured training with the senior squad this week.

With the likes of Lucas Moura and Richarlison expected to be fit and with the arrival of Danjuma, we have more than enough attacking options, which is why it is extremely unlikely that Mundle will make the bench against Manchester City.

However, the opportunity to train with the superstars in the Spurs fits-team will certainly be extremely beneficial for the youngster’s development.
