Alasdair Gold reveals that Alfie Devine is expected to fly to Belgium today to seal a season-long loan move to Westerlo.

Alfie Devine missed out on a loan in England
It would have come as a surprise to some when Devine was not loaned out by Tottenham ahead of last Friday’s transfer deadline.
The attacking midfielder had impressed during his loan spells at Port Vale and Plymouth Argyle last season, proving that he is ready to play competitive football.
The 20-year-old’s chances of getting game time at Spurs are quite minimal, given the amount of options Ange Postecoglou has for the number ten role and the wide births.

Alfie Devine is set to join Westerlo in Belgium
It now looks like Devine is set to move to the Belgian top flight, with Gold confirming that the youngster will make a switch to Westerlo in search of regular game time.
The Tottenham academy starlet will team up with Luka Vuskovic at the Jupiler Pro League side and will hope to catch Ange Postecoglou’s eye with his performances.
Gold explained that Spurs were initially reluctant to loan Devine to Championship sides but when they eventually changed their mind, many of those clubs had moved on, thus forcing them to look for options around the continent.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am not convinced that the Belgian top flight is more competitive and of a higher quality than the Championship but moving to a new country and experiencing a new footballing culture will help Devine grow both on and off the pitch.
