Report: £200,000-a-week Spurs man wants to leave North London this month

Antonio Conte shuffled his Tottenham Hotspur side for the visit of Morecambe in the FA Cup, having made eight changes to the side which lost at Chelsea.

Tanguy Ndombele came off the bench at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening and was named in the Italian’s starting eleven for the FA Cup tie against the League One outfit.

Tottenham failed to break down their opponents with Conte having decided to make a triple change on 67 minutes by bringing on Oliver Skipp, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.

Conte’s substitution brought about a huge cheer inside the stadium and it quickly turned to boos when Ndombele, who was one of those replaced decided to take his time in leaving the pitch.

With his side losing 1-0, it would have been expected a player would quickly depart the field of play but the Frenchman looked to slow down even further when the boos rang out.

The Athletic report the 25-year-old is keen to leave Tottenham before the end of the transfer window, claiming that sources close to both the club and midfielder have indicated that his departure would be in the best interests of both parties.

Ndombele is under contract at Tottenham until 2025 and earns £200,000-a-week which is likely to prove to be an issue for any potential suitors.

The former Lyon man has set his sights on joining a club in the Champions League and there has been no concrete interest from any other side.

Ndombele has had countless opportunities under multiple managers, but has failed to live up to the hype and his price tag.

There is no doubt that Spurs would have to take a significant hit on the fee which they paid if they are to offload him.
