Tottenham Hotspur could sell Richarlison this summer, as Ange Postecoglou has ‘question marks’ over the Brazilian’s fitness and goalscoring ability.
Richarlison signed for Tottenham from Everton last summer for a fee believed to be £60 million (Sky Sports).
Things have not quite gone to plan for the attacker in his debut season for the Lilywhites, however.
The 26-year-old managed just three goals and four assists for Spurs in the 2022/23 campaign, with just one of those goals coming in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
Richarlison had to wait until the end of April before opening his domestic account for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spanish reporter Ramon Alvarez de Mon said on his YouTube channel recently that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is still a fan of Richarlison and suggested the Brazilian could be a success in Spain if a move were to materialise.
Nothing has been mentioned thus far as to the availability of Richarlison, but that could all change now.
Postecoglou has question marks over Richarlison
According to sources at Football Insider, the new Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is not sure about Richarlison and could look to offload the player during this transfer window.
Apparently, Postecoglou is “keen to add more goals” to his Tottenham squad and there are now “major doubts” over Richarlison’s place in the Spurs team.
With the Australian looking to “add more reliable options” in attack, it has been suggested there are “question marks” over both the fitness and the goalscoring record of the Brazilian forward.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am still a firm believer that Richarlison can deliver the goods for Spurs. I think he is far better suited to playing through the middle, but obviously that is where Harry Kane thrives, so it’s a tricky one.
We should definitely keep hold of Richarlison and give him more opportunities this year, and then assess the situation.
