Report: 21-year-old right-back has been offered to Tottenham and Chelsea

90 min report that Barcelona have offered Sergino Dest to Tottenham, as well as to other Premier League clubs.

Dest has struggled to get consistent starts under his belt under Xavi Hernandez this season and it is believed the right-back is not part of the Barcelona boss’ plans for next year either.

The Catalan club are said to be ready to cash in on the 21-year-old, who has allegedly been informed that he is free to leave the club.

It is revealed that the La Lia club first contacted Manchester United about the youngster’s availability. New United boss Erik Ten Hag is said to be looking to sign a right-back this summer and is thought to be keen on reuniting with Dest, who he worked with at Ajax.

The report claims that Barca have also contacted both Spurs and Chelsea about the USA international’s availability, with both London clubs said to be keeping ‘more than a passing interest’ in the player.

It is explained that while Barca would rather sell Dest, they are open to loaning the right-back out this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we are to pursue a young, up and coming right wing-back, I would prefer us to go after Tariq Lamptey, Djed Spence or Max Aarons over Dest as they are homegrown and are accustomed to English football. While Dest has a high ceiling, there is no guarantee that he would be effective in the Premier League.
