Report: 21-year-old Spurs star could be next for a new contract after Udogie

Hot on the heels of Destiny Udogie bagging a bumper new deal at Spurs, it has been suggested that Pape Matar Sarr will be next for a contract extension.

Tottenham’s success this season has been all the sweeter for seeing young talents like Destiny Udogie and Pape Sarr holding down regular spots in the starting lineup under Ange Postecoglou.

Udogie was signed last summer but remained with his previous team Udinese for the 2022/23 campaign. He has since established himself as the first choice left back at Spurs and is one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.

Sarr, likewise, had to wait a year to truly arrive in North London after signing on the dotted line. Under Antonio Conte, however, Sarr found himself a peripheral figure with limited game time.

Postecoglou has predominantly partnered Sarr with Yves Bissouma when possible in the middle of the park, and the pair have dominated the midfield for the Lilywhites in many games.

Is Sarr getting a new contract?

It was announced today that Destiny Udogie had officially signed a new contract with Spurs, keeping him at the club until 2030. Now, Football.London suggests Sarr may follow suit soon.

Udogie has been rewarded for the scintillating start he has made to life at Tottenham with a new “long-term bumper deal.” The move is also a signal of intent from Spurs to keep their brightest young talent locked in to the project Postecoglou is building at the club.

It’s no surprise then, that the report claims Sarr is “unlikely to be far behind” his teammate when it comes to the queue for a new contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

Much like Udogie, Pape Sarr has been a revelation this season and he will be a huge part of our future. We should tie him down for as long as possible and give him whatever he wants.
