Report: 23-year-old midfielder set to reject Spurs approach

According to a report in Fennec Football, FC Twente midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki is set to reject an approach from Tottenham Hpts[ur this summer.

Zerrouki has established himself as a regular in the Eredivisie club’s starting eleven this season and his impressive performances have been rewarded with a call up to the Algerian national side.

The Twente player is said to have caught Tottenham’s eye and is also said to be attracting interest from France.

It is said that Ron Jans’ side are willing to cash in on the 23-year-old since he has only two years left on his contract.

However, Zerrouki reportedly prefers to stay at Twente for another season rather than moving to Spurs or to Ligue 1.

It is alleged that the youngster is concerned about a potential lack of game time if he makes a move and would prefer to play regularly at De Grolsch Veste.

The report mentions that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paritici would have to persuade the midfielder that he would be given a first-team role in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite the boost of having Skipp back, it is likely that we would need to buy at least one midfielder this summer, with both Sissoko and Winks looking like they could be on their way out.

However, I do not expect a significant portion of the transfer budget to go into strengthening the position as areas like centre-back and right-back are arguably bigger priorities this summer.
