Report: 23-year-old Spurs and Everton target pushing to leave Serie A club

According to Italian journalist Nicola Balice (as relayed by GFNI), rumoured Tottenham target Merih Demiral is pushing to leave Juventus this summer.

Demiral has struggled for regular game time since moving to Juventus in 2019 and it was previously reported that both Tottenham and Everton were eyeing a move for the Turkish international this summer.

Spurs were alleged to be in talks with the player’s representatives last month, with some sources from Italy suggesting that Fabio Paratici might hand the North Londoners an advantage over the Toffees in the race for the centre-back.

Balice has now stated that the centre-back is keen on leaving the Allianz Stadium this summer in search of regular first-team football.

He reveals that 23-year-old is considered the fourth-choice centre-back by Massimiliano Allegri after Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt.

The journalist claims that Juve are prepared to cash in on Demiral if they receive an offer of €30m (£25.8m) but adds that the defender’s representatives consider the fee to be excessive.

Spurs are named as one of the clubs interested in the centre-back along with Everton and Leicester City.

If Tottenham’s interest in Demiral is serious, then one would hope that the relationship Paratici has with the centre-back would give us an advantage over the likes of Everton and Leicester.
