Report: 23-year-old Spurs target will make decision on his future next week

The Evening Standard have revealed that Tottenham target Manor Solomon will make a decision on his future next week after his summer holiday.

Solomon spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Fulham after FIFA ruled that foreign players in Ukraine could suspend their contracts following Russia’s invasion of the country.

Although the winger did not establish himself as a regular starter for Marco Silva’s team, he delivered plenty of impressive performances as an impact substitute, even scoring in five straight games between February and March.

The Athletic reported last month that while Fulham wish to tie the Israeli international to a long-term contract this summer, Spurs were now leading the race for his signature.

Solomon is contracted to Shakhtar Donetsk until December (Transfermarkt) and despite UEFA extending the ruling and handing players unilateral power over their future, the Ukrainian club’s CEO Sergei Palkin was not pleased at the suggestion that Spurs could sign the winger.

Earlier this month, he threatened to sue Tottenham if they sign the 23-year-old on a free transfer, insisting it is unfair that Shakhtar would not be getting any sort of transfer fee for the player (ESPN).

Solomon will make Spurs decision next week

The Evening Standard have now revealed that following his match-winning display for Isreal in their Euro 2024 qualifying win over Andorra on Monday night, Solomon headed to Ibiza for a seven-day holiday.

The report claims that the attacker will make a decision on his next destination following the holiday.

It is explained that while plenty of clubs are interested in Solomon, Spurs and Fulham are currently the front-runners to snap him up.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are in need of reinforcements out wide following the departure of Arnaut Danjuma and Lucas Moura.

Solomon appears to be a good fit for Postecoglou, given the winger’s aggression and directness.

The Australian might view the 23-year-old as a serviceable cover for Son Heung-min on the left.
