Report: 24-year-old has asked his club to accept Tottenham’s transfer offer

According to Hurriyet, Victor Nelsson has asked Galatasaray to accept Tottenham’s offer and made it clear to the club that he wishes to join the Premier League side.

We previously relayed a report from Turkiye Gazetesi, which claimed that Tottenham had launched their first ‘serious offer’ for Nelsson, who has arguably been the stand-out centre-back in the Turkish top flight over the last couple of years.

The news of Spurs’ offer has now also been covered by Hurriyet, who claim in their latest update that the Lilywhites have bid €22m (£18.8m) for the Dane.

Galatasaray want over £21m from Spurs for Nelsson

However, the publication asserts that Galatasaray are demanding that the centre-back’s release clause of €25m (£21.4m) be met by the North London club.

It is explained that Sevilla tried to snap up Nelsson last summer but Galatasaray persuaded him to stay, with the centre-back not wanting to miss out on another big opportunity to move to a top league.

Hurriyet state that the 24-year-old has told the club ‘let me go’ and asked them to ‘accept the offer’ made by Ange Postecoglou’s men.

There has been absolutely no news of any such bid from Tottenham for Nelson from any of the British outlets or from the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

That suggests that these leaks are coming from within Galatasaray rather than through the centre-back’s entourage.
