Report: 24-year-old ‘likely to leave’ Spurs this summer

The Daily Mail have claimed that Davinson Sanchez is likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

Sanchez found it difficult to find game time at the start of the season but seemed to have forced himself into the starting line up at the turn of the year due to some sub-par performances from Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld.

However, the Colombian struggled for consistency and found himself watching on from the sidelines once again in Jose Mourinho’s final few weeks in charge.

It was previously reported that Mourinho wanted the defender sold in the summer but with the Portuguese coach now gone, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the centre-back.

The Daily Mail report that Mourinho’s departure does not change things for Sanchez, who remains one of the players Spurs are planning to cash in on.

The report says that Tottenham are keen on signing Fulham centre-back Joachim Andersen this summer but the North Londoners are working under a restricted budget.

It is asserted that the former Ajax defender is thus ‘likely to leave’ the club at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s plans for summer with regards to who to buy and sell would likely depend a great deal on who the next manager is. The club would want to provide the new man with an opportunity to work with some of the players or would at least want to get his opinion on the different players in the squad. That is one of the reasons Levy will want to make sure that he gets someone in fairly quickly.
