Report: 24-year-old linked with Spurs and Chelsea drops hint about his future

Andre Onana, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, has just dropped a major hint that he might be on his way out of Ajax.

There have been suggestions over the past couple of months that Spurs are on the lookout for Hugo Lloris’s long-term replacement (Daily Mail), despite others suggesting that the Frenchman is unlikely to leave North London this summer (Football.London).

L’Equipe (as translated by GFFN) reported earlier this month that Ajax are ready to sell their goalkeeper this summer, with The Telegraph claiming that the Eredivisie champions want £35 million for his services.

Tottenham and Chelsea are both said to be keen on bringing the Cameroon international to the Premier League, while Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the shot-stopper (Express).

Now, the 24-year-old has taken to Instagram to post a message thanking the Ajax fans for their support, although some could argue that it sounds very much like a goodbye.

The Daily Star claim that the message hints that Onana’s Ajax career is over.

The striker wrote (as relayed by the Daily Star): “The journey ends with an empty stadium but full of pride and satisfaction. Thanks for all the love and support.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With Michel Vorm leaving the club, we are bound to be in for a goalkeeper but I suspect that we will not look to sign Hugo’s long-term replacement this summer and will be content with bringing someone in as a third choice. We will likely not have much to spend this summer and so we have to prioritise our signings carefully.
