Report: 25-year-old keen on completing a move to Tottenham

According to Italian publication Centotrentuno, Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez is keen on completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Nandez has been a consistent performer since moving to the Serie A from Boca Juniors back in 2019 and the midfielder was one of the few shining lights for Cagliari last season as they limped to a 16th place finish.

Reports first emerged earlier this week that Tottenham were readying a €10m (£8.5m) loan offer for the midfielder, with an obligation to purchase him for a further €20m (£17m).

Centotrentuno have now provided an update on Spurs’ pursuit of Nandez, explaining that the North London club are ready to offer more than other suitors like Leeds and West Ham.

The report states that ‘contrary to what has been read in the last few hours, Nandez would like the London destination’.

It is asserted that the Lilywhites are attracted by the Uruguay international because of the flexibility he can add to their midfield.

Cagliari are now said to be waiting for Tottenham ‘to pass from words to deads’ and make a concrete offer for the midfielder.

Given that Paratici likes to negotiate for a lot of different players for each position, it remains to be seen whether Spurs do intend on signing Nandez.

However, given that there are not too many other midfield targets being mooted as a target for Tottenham with less than two weeks until the window slams shut, one would expect the club to snap up the Uruguayan.
