Report: 25-year-old Spurs outcast tells teammates he is completing transfer away

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has mentioned to his teammates that he will be joining Napoli this summer, according to Daily Mail.

Ndombele is one of the players deemed dispensable by Antonio Conte, having left him out of every pre-season and Premier League squad.

The former Olympique Lyonnais man has been training individually this summer as he is no longer in the boss’ plans for the future (Evening Standard).

Tottenham have already restructured their midfield by signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion in a deal worth up to £35million (Sky Sports). Giovani Lo Celso, who was also considered to be surplus for requirements, has left on a season-long loan move to Villarreal (Fabrizio Romano).

Harry Winks is the only midfielder remaining in limbo despite being put up for sale. Ndombele could be next in line to move out after the Italian outfit proposed a loan fee of £ 1 million, with the offer also including a buy option worth around £26million.

There is confidence at Naples that an agreement can be reached, with the Serie A club looking to replace the Paris Saint-Germain-bound Fabian Ruiz with Ndombele.

The latter could be set to join Luciano Spalletti’s team shortly after he told his teammates in N17 about the latest development.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham had spent a guaranteed fee of £53.8million (BBC Sport) for Ndombele back in 2019. It seems that Spurs will be forced to accept a huge loss on their investment, looking at the current optional clause that has been proposed by Napoli.

However, the loan fee is far too low for a player like the Frenchman. Hence, it would be best if the north Londoners only accept this offer if Napoli agree to take on the 25-year-old’s massive wages of around £200,000-per-week (Spotrac), which is the same as Harry Kane’s salary.
