Report: 26-year-old has no interest in rumoured Spurs move

Football Insider have claimed that Raheem Sterling has no interest in coming to Tottenham this summer, amidst rumours suggesting that the Manchester City star could be used as a makeweight to take Harry Kane to the Etihad Stadium.

City look like the most likely destination for Kane if he is to leave Spurs this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s men expected to make a big splash in the transfer market.

However, it is certainly going to take a huge fee to bring Daniel Levy to the negotiating table, with Kane still having three years left to run on his contract.

It has thus been suggested that City could potentially use both Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in a part-exchange deal for the England captain.

However, Football Insider have now claimed that Sterling has no interest in being used in such a deal.

It is explained that the 26-year-old either wants to stay at City or move to a club that are competing in the Champions League and fighting for major trophies.

The report adds that City are ready to sell the former Liverpool man if their £80m valuation is met as they step up their pursuit of Jack Grealish.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reports have indicated that Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland are the two options City are eyeing as alternatives to Kane.

However, with Lukaku expressing his wish to stay at Inter and with Haaland potentially on his way to Chelsea, City might well decide to make a big splash for Kane this summer.

However, I am sceptical as to whether a part-exchange deal is on the cards as it would be difficult enough for the two parties to reach an agreement on Kane’s valuation, let alone that of multiple players.
