Report: £26m-rated player prefers PSG move despite talks with Spurs and Chelsea

According to Tuesday’s edition of the Mirror, Paris Saint-Germain is the preferred destination for Ajax goalkeeper, Andre Onana, who is said to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer.

Onana was linked with a move to North London in February (Daily Mail) but the speculation has been heating up over the past few days.

L’Equipe (as translated by GFFN) reported this week that Ajax are ready to sell the goalkeeper for around €30 million this summer, claiming that both Spurs and Chelsea had already begun talks to sign the 24-year-old.

However, the Mirror (14 April, page 51) claims that, despite Tottenham’s best attempts to lure Onana to North London, PSG remains his prefered destination.

It is claimed that the Ajax star already has his heart set on a move to Paris and he is desperate to join the Ligue 1 champions, even if it means he will have to play second fiddle to Keylor Navas.

Spurs Web Opinion

In my opinion, the reason Onana is so in demand is not necessarily because he is one of the best in the world but rather because of his relatively low price. While I wouldn’t be disappointed if Spurs were to bring him in, I would personally prefer us to sign someone with Premier League experience like Nick Pope.
