Report: 27-year-old expected to leave Tottenham after a five-year stay in N17

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham are planning for next season without Giovani Lo Celso, who is expected to part ways with the club this summer.

Since arriving at Tottenham in the summer of 2019, Lo Celso has never quite managed to be a fixture in the starting eleven, barring a brief period under Jose Mourinho in the latter part of the Argentine’s first season at the club.

The midfielder did get some opportunities earlier this season when James Maddison was out injured and gave a decent account of himself but he has found game time hard to come by over the last few months.

Lo Celso is expected to leave Tottenham

Football Insider say that Lo Celso’s five-year stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is about to come to an end this season, with neither he nor Bryan Gil expected to be at Hotspur Way for the start of next campaign.

The report says that the Lilywhites have already decided to sanction the former Villareal man’s departure if they receive an appropriate offer for him.

The publications assert that Spurs would have accepted an offer of £15m for Lo Celso in January but it is not revealed how much the club will want for the player this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Lo Celso entering the final year of his contract this June, I do not think Tottenham will be able to get more than £10m-£15m for the midfielder. Having said that, if he excels in the Copa America this summer, there is a possibility of a bidding war ensuing for the player.
